OCD Therapy in Washington

Telehealth Services by a Washington-Licensed Counselor

Finding effective OCD therapy in Washington can be difficult when symptoms don’t fit common expectations or when prior therapy hasn’t brought lasting change. Many people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) spend years trying to manage distress without realizing that OCD—not general anxiety or stress—is driving the cycle.

Effective care begins with accurate identification and specialized treatment.

I’m a licensed and nationally certified counselor, licensed in Washington, and I provide telehealth-based OCD therapy to clients located throughout the state. My work focuses specifically on OCD and related presentations, including intrusive thoughts, mental compulsions, reassurance-seeking, avoidance, and uncertainty-driven decision patterns.

OCD Therapy Focused on Patterns, Not Reassurance

OCD is often reinforced—rather than reduced—when therapy focuses primarily on reassurance, emotional processing, or trying to “get rid of” unwanted thoughts. While these approaches may feel supportive in the moment, they can unintentionally strengthen compulsive cycles over time.

My approach emphasizes recognizing OCD patterns clearly and learning how to respond differently when those patterns show up. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) along with other evidence-based strategies to help clients reduce compulsive behaviors, increase tolerance for uncertainty, and build confidence in everyday functioning.

Therapy is structured and collaborative, with a focus on practical application between sessions. The goal is not certainty or symptom elimination, but greater flexibility, autonomy, and freedom from OCD-driven rules.

Telehealth OCD Therapy Across Washington

Providing therapy via secure telehealth allows clients anywhere in Washington to access specialized OCD care without needing to coordinate in-person services or navigate long waitlists. Telehealth also makes it possible to work directly with OCD triggers as they arise in daily life, rather than only discussing them abstractly in session.

Sessions remain intentional and goal-oriented, with clear expectations and follow-through. Telehealth is not a substitute for care—it is the format through which structured, effective treatment is delivered.
